Verity is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gevo, dedicated to providing full-service carbon project development through its proprietary digital MRV (Measure, Report, Verify) platform, powered by distributed ledger technology. Verity specializes in carbon accounting and services aimed at maximizing the value of environmental benefits throughout the entire business system.
Gevo’s mission is to convert renewable energy and biogenic carbon into sustainable fuels and chemicals with a net zero or better carbon footprint. Gevo’s innovative technology can be used to make a variety of products, including sustainable aviation fuel (“SAF”), motor fuels, chemicals, and other materials. Gevo’s business model includes developing, financing, and operating production facilities for these renewable fuels and other products. It currently runs one of the largest dairy-based renewable natural gas (“RNG”) facilities in the United States. Elim Yeoh, MBA, is a distinguished professional in the energy sector with a diverse and extensive career history. Currently serving as the Head of Biofuels Growth, Americas at bp, she is leading the charge to shape and deliver on bp’s 2030 goals for the region. Bioenergy Growth is a growth engine for bp, one that is expected to deliver $4b EBITDA globally by 2030. Prior to joining bp, she was with Chevron for over 20 years with increasing responsibilities across Downstream and Chemicals. Elim held the role of Director, Global Renewables Partnerships last, where she led teams in identifying commercial opportunities and developing deal structures to enhance returns in RNG/CNG, SAF and other decarbonization solutions. In addition, she has demonstrated strategic insights in conceptualizing, developing and executing renewable energy strategies to anchor new biogrowth business. With a diverse set of experiences across value chains and geographies from technical to commercial, Elim has consistently showcased leadership in safety, commercial acumen and innovation throughout her career. Elim’s commitment to growth and learning bias also led her to pursue her executive MBA in 2019 at University of California, Berkeley where she served as co-president of her graduating class. Karl Rábago has 33+ years of experience in energy and climate policy and markets and is recognized as an innovator in utility regulatory issues relating to clean and distributed energy services and technologies. Karl is a frequent author on electricity industry issues and has provided testimony as an expert witness in more than 165 electric and gas utility regulatory proceedings. Karl serves as Chair of the Board of the Center for Resource Solutions, a non-governmental organization that manages the Green-e Certification program for green power products, and on the Boards of Solar United Neighbors and the Texas Solar Energy Society. Karl has been a Commissioner on the Texas Public Utility Commission; a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the US Department of Energy; Vice President of Distributed Energy Services at Austin Energy; Director of Regulatory Affairs for the AES Corporation and AES Wind; and Managing Director and Principal of the Rocky Mountain Institute.
Harry Simpson is the founder and President and CEO of Crimson Renewable Energy Holdings, LLC and its subsidiaries SeQuential Biodiesel, LLC and Sequential Environmental Services, LLC. Harry has led Crimson through business and capital formation, plant construction and expansions, and acquisitions to its current position as California and Oregon’s largest producer of biodiesel and one of the largest used cooking oil collectors on the West Coast. Currently, Harry also serves on the Governing Board and Executive Committee of Clean Fuels Alliance America, the Biomass-based Diesel industry’s national trade association. Harry was also a co-founder of the California Advanced Biodiesel Alliance, a state trade association representing stakeholders in the Biomass-based Diesel value chain. Prior to founding Crimson, Harry served in a variety of senior executive capacities at venture capital backed technology companies and in interbank foreign exchange derivatives trading. Harry is a Chicago native and a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington.
Trinity Lloyd is the Energy Transition and Sustainability strategy lead for Google Cloud. She is responsible for aligning Google’s sustainability assets with the ESG priorities of major corporations. By activating an ecosystem of collaboration and innovation powered by big data, Ms. Lloyd brings industries and sectors together to tackle challenges, capture emerging markets, and accelerate a sustainable, resilient and profitable future. Prior to joining Google, she spent 25 years building successful programs for top technology firms including Dell, Cisco, and Vmware. Her work has been cited in the Wall Street Journal and the Biden White House Sustainable Aviation Plan. Ms. Lloyd believes that doing what’s right and what’s profitable are not mutually exclusive. They are interdependent and technology is the critical enabler of both.
Mark Matlock has 40 years of experience from Archer Daniels Midland, where he held various roles, ultimately retiring as Senior Vice President of Food Research in December of 2019. Mark is the author or co-author of ten U.S. patents, two of which relate to an analytical instrument (the “Oil Stability Index” or OSI) that measures the oxidative stability of vegetable oils. This analytical method has been utilized or mentioned in nearly 2,000 scientific papers. Mark was involved in ADM’s early efforts to develop veggie burgers in the late 1980s. He led research for ADM that brought to market new enzyme modified soy protein isolates, and via a novel enzymatic technology, trans free solid fats for margarines and shortenings. The latter development was recognized by both a U.S. Presidential Green Chemistry Award as well as the American Oil Chemists’ Society’s Corporate Achievement award in 2005. Mark also played a key role in ADM’s acquisition of Wild Flavors in 2014 and of Biopolis in 2017. Mark was elected president of the American Oil Chemists’ Society for 2003-2004, an AOCS Fellow in 2007 and and was awarded the A.E. Bailey award, AOCS’s top technical award in 2023.
Kristy Moore is a leading authority on motor fuel quality, regulatory, safety and environmental aspects, specializing in renewable and alternative fuels. Kristy is well-known and respected throughout the industry for her depth of knowledge and expertise on gasoline and gasoline-ethanol blends. Kristy is developing opportunities for increased renewable fuel and chemical usage in domestic and global markets for Growth Energy, the largest biofuels trade association. She is an active participant in ASTM International by chairing the D02 Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants Subcommittee 93 on International Standards and Related Activities. She is also an integral member of Committee E48 Bioenergy and Industrial Chemicals from Biomass. She has extensive knowledge of the Fuel Alcohol industry, as well as the Beverage and Industrial Alcohol industries, using this experience to address technical, regulatory issues for building domestic and global markets. Ms. Moore holds a Chemistry degree from Illinois State University.
Dr. Nancy Nee is a thought leader in organizational transformation, specializing in business and digital transformation, voice of the customer, service innovation, and agile product and project delivery. With a track record of managing risks in highly regulated environments, Dr. Nee has led large-scale change and innovation initiatives at organizations such as the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Bureau of Fiscal Service, and IRS, where governance, compliance, and operational rigor are critical to success. As a former Chief Product and Innovation Officer and now a Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Dr. Nee has been at the forefront of bridging the gap between strategy and execution, ensuring that business lines and technology work in tandem to deliver impactful capabilities. Her expertise spans enterprise transformation, digital strategy, and operational efficiency, helping organizations navigate complexity while driving measurable business outcomes. She has her Ph.D. in Designing Sustainable Systems from Case Western Reserve University and is a Design and Innovation Fellow where she contributes to cutting-edge research and thought-leadership in service innovation and transformation strategy.
